The Update about Grand Retro and Kickstarter Live
over 5 years ago – Mon, Aug 13, 2018 at 07:12:24 PM

Ciao ciao, Martians!

Within squeaking distance of unlocking James Semple's second Sounds from the Edge, and only a day left until the end of the campaign, we're staying up 'til all hours continuing to get things moving on this end here in the Plaza of Four Points. Tonight's update is all about a new add-on that many people have asked about, a Kickstarter Live session, plus some links and news. So let's crack on!

Grand Retro Bundle Add-On

Many of you have contacted us asking for some kind of discounted bundle of the books that are represented in digital form as the Retro Pack. Not all of those books are still physically available, but we took stock of sixteen Over the Edge books that together comprise something we're calling the Grand Retro Bundle.

For $140 you get all sixteen books packaged up and shipped to you for free in the USA and for only $35 for anywhere else in the world. That's more than 25% off the retail price for these items, which includes Robin D. Laws' Pierced Heart novel of Al Amarja and the wildly successful Weather the Cuckoo Likes supplement.

We Blogged Again

Did you know Atlas Games has a blog? It's true. We've been blogging about Over the Edge for the last couple months. Check out our newest entry, which is all about character creation in OTE. It's easier than it ever has been to create a character that, despite the loose and narrative nature that fits on a postcard, can serve you just fine for months and months of play.

All Four EdgeWork Issues Unlocked

Thanks to a social goal over the weekend where folks were encouraged on Twitter to post their own #LittleScratches, and the hard work of Google+ fans, all four issues of EdgeWork are now unlocked. Everyone whose pledge includes the Core Digital gets these for free, and we'll make them available on our vendor platforms in a month.

Kickstarter Live Q&A

Finally, join us live tonight (Monday evening) at 8 Eastern/5 Pacific for a live Q&A on Kickstarter Live. Jonathan Tweet, Chris Lites, and I answer any burning questions and engage in merry banter for at least an hour. Tune in, join the chat, and see what happens.

The Update about Last-Day Pledge Tiers
over 5 years ago – Mon, Aug 13, 2018 at 07:12:23 PM

Ciao ciao, Martians!

Here we are, less than 24 hours to go. Don't forget that tonight at 8PM Eastern, 5PM Pacific, we're jumping onto Kickstarter Live to do a Q&A with Jonathan, Cam, and (hopefully) Chris. We'll be on for at least half an hour, longer if it's hopping. In this update, some news about some last-day high-level pledge tiers you might enjoy.

Prestige Consultancy with Jonathan Tweet

This new pledge level is $350 and includes a one-hour-long one-to-one Skype conversation with Jonathan. You can ask him anything you like, he'll give you feedback about your Over the Edge campaign plans, and share his GM advice. It also includes everything from the Luxe Retro with Pips level, which is already packed with goodies.

Dinner at Gen Con 2019

Yes, we've got three of these dinners on the docket for next year's Gen Con in Indianapolis. Although we can't cover your badge, your flight, or your hotel, for $750 we'll sit you and one or two friends down for a delightful meal with Jonathan during the show. Like the consultancy level, this also includes the Luxe Retro with Pips pledge package. Split it with two others and save!

$130,000 Stretch Goal: The Final Soundtrack

Now that we've blown through the second James Semple Sounds from the Edge goal and the Black Death Theater Troupe goal, our next target is $130,000. At that level we're unlocking the third and final musical suite from composer James Semple's Sounds from the Edge. Like the others, everyone who backs at a level that includes the Core Digital gets these soundtracks, to play during your Over the Edge games or to lull you gently to sleep and give you disturbingly surreal nightmares.

Jonathan Tweet Interview on the Smart Party

Our fearless guide Jonathan Tweet joined the Sound Party podcast to record an interview about OTE and all things adjacent to it. You can listen to it here. Jonathan says it's one of his favorite interviews, and he dishes quite extensively on topics near and dear to his (and, I suspect, our) heart.

See you at the Kickstarter Live!

The Update About Black Death and Burger Boxes
over 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 10, 2018 at 01:09:59 AM

Ciao ciao, Martians!

A little late-day update for Thursday with some additional information about upcoming stretch goals and some add-ons for those of you who're fans of On the Edge.

Black Death Theater Troupe

In the before-times, Jonathan Tweet wrote an article about a Shakespearean theater troupe who perform unorthodox renditions of plays all across the Edge, though most often at Sad Mary's Bar and Girl. This article has been lost to time but we've tapped into some chronopathetic sources and mapped the content to a PDF that's seven pages long and ready to drop into any Over the Edge story. Yes, it has older stats, but converting the GMCs should be a snap.

If we reach $115,000 before the campaign ends on Tuesday, we're going to include this PDF as part of everyone's digital rewards. That means if you're already getting the Core Digital edition of the rulebook, not only are you getting Forgotten Lives from a previous stretch goal, and the EdgeWork zines issues 1 thru 3, but we'll include the Black Death Theater Troupe in there as well.

Burger Box Add-On

What's a Burger Box? This is another assortment of On the Edge cards with a slightly different mix. We offer this for sale all the time through online vendors and at conventions but we're adding it here as an add-on, too. Here's what's included:

  • 6 Standard Starter Decks
  • 12 Standard Booster Packs
  • 12 Cut-Ups Project Booster Packs
  • 12 Shadows Booster Packs
  • 12 Arcana Booster Packs

This is a great deal as it's only $25 for the box, plus shipping: $8 US shipping; $35 Canada shipping; $50 anywhere else. (It's quite heavy - sorry about that, international folks).

All in good tunes,

The Update about Bookplates
over 5 years ago – Thu, Aug 09, 2018 at 05:47:08 PM

Ciao ciao, Martians!

Everything is a-buzz here in our rent-a-biz Atlas Games office in Four Points plaza with just over four days left in the campaign. We've got artists working hard on illustrations, we've got bundles and inventory and bean-counting. And we have an update about bookplates that we're sure may tickle your tibias.

Signed Bookplate in Every Luxe

Yes folks, that's right - every Core Luxe edition of Over the Edge now comes with a signed bookplate by none other than Al Amarja tour guide and scribe, Jonathan Tweet. We're not increasing the price, we're not posting a new pledge level, this is an upgrade to all pledges that include a Core Luxe hardcover.

Unsigned Bookplate Pack Add-On

If you're the sort that prowls libraries in order to randomly add bookplates to volumes therein, or if you have your own library and like stalking game designers at conventions for autographs, do we have the deal for you. We're offering a pack of ten unsigned bookplates as a new add-on to any pledge level. We can't promise that your favorite game designer will actually sign them if you present them, but why not? We believe any book is better with a bookplate. Order a pack of ten for just $5 plus free shipping in the USA or +$2 outside of the USA.

More Art Sketches

Just to leave you with some more works in progress, here's concept art for interior illustrations by Daniel Martin and Lil Chan!
